Course Description
This course explores the essential relationship between digestive function, detoxification, and whole-body health from both scientific and faith-informed perspectives. Students will study the structure and physiology of the digestive system, including the liver, colon, kidneys, and lungs, to understand how these organs work together to process nutrients, eliminate waste, and protect the body from toxicity. Emphasis is placed on identifying factors that impair digestion—such as inflammatory foods, environmental toxins, and lifestyle habits—and replacing them with practices that support healing, balance, and restoration.
Through a combination of nutrition education, detoxification principles, lifestyle interventions, and natural health concepts, students will learn how to apply practical strategies that promote efficient digestion and improved elimination. This includes evaluating food choices, incorporating cleansing foods and beverages, understanding the role of hydration and movement, and recognizing early signs of digestive imbalance. The course promotes a responsible, holistic approach to wellness.
Students will learn:
- Understand the physiology and detoxification functions of the liver, colon, kidneys, and lungs.
- Identify common dietary triggers that harm digestion and foods that promote healing.
- Assess signs of toxicity and learn natural methods for prevention and reduction.
- Apply lifestyle modalities such as water therapy, exercise, and rest to support detoxification.
- Integrate faith-based wellness principles for balanced physical and spiritual stewardship.
By the end of this course, students will have a comprehensive understanding of how digestion and detoxification influence long-term health and will be equipped with practical tools to make informed, restorative lifestyle changes rooted in both science and Christian values.
